About All Silica Fiber Anhydroguide (AFS) and Superguide (SFS) Silica Core / Silica Clad / Polymer or Metal Coated Fiber

Both the SFS and AFS optical fibers provided by Fiberguide Industries are typically used in photonic applications that primarily require individual or bundled large core multimode fibers, with diameters less than or equal to 50 µm, that allow for the transmission of optical energy. The SFS and AFS fibers can be coated with a wide variety of polymers, as well as metalized if extreme temperature performance is required.

About the Hard Coat Fiber Anhydroguide (AFSH) and Superguide (SFSH) Silica Core / Silica Clad / Hard Polymer Buffer Coated / Polymer Outer Coated Fiber

Both the AFSH and SFSH fibers provided by Fiberguide Industries exhibit similar properties as compared to those offered by both the SFS and AFS fibers. However, the AFSH and SFSH also exhibit an additional layer of hard polymer that sits above the silica cladding. This hard coating provides as stable fiber layer that provides sufficient bonding between the silica cladding and the outer polymer coating. As a result of this buffer layer, these fibers are ideal for a wide range of medical applications.

About the Hard Clad Fiber Anhydroguide (APCH) and Superguide (SPCH) Silica Core / Hard Polymer Clad / Polymer Coated Fiber

Both the SPCH and APCH fibers offered by Fiberguide Industries exhibit a hard polymer cladding as compared to the silica cladding found in other fiber models. As a result of this cladding, a higher NA of 0.37 is achieved, thereby reducing the overall cost associated with the use of this fiber as compared to when silica cladding is employed. As compared to when hard polymer cladding is utilized, the polymer cladding provides improved radiation stability that is particularly useful for nuclear research and sensing applications.

About the Solarguide Silica Core / Silica Clad – Solarization Resistant UV Fiber

The Solarguide fiber provided by Fiberguide Industries is infused with hydrogen gas to improve the long-term attenuation stability of this fiber when exposed to short UV wavelengths within the range of 190 – 230 nm. As a result of this property, the Solarguide fiber is an ideal choice for UV spectroscopy, lithography, excimer laser systems, and UV curing applications that utilize Deuterium lamps or other types of UV sources in which wavelengths fall below the 230 nm range.
