Uncooled Long Wave Infrared Camera Calibir™ GX

The Calibir™ GX series of uncooled long wave infrared (LWIR) cameras offers exceptional shutterless imaging performance and immense flexibility in an extremely compact package. With a frontal form factor of 29 mm x 29 mm the camera can be incorporated in tight spaces for compact solutions.

The microbolometer-based platform covers wavelengths from 8-14 µm and offers a wide range of lenses. With VGA and QVGA resolutions, standard GigE interface and modern on-board processing features serve a variety of uncooled imaging applications in industrial settings.

Features

Shutterless Operation

The Calibir cameras do not need mechanical shutter for calibration, meaning almost instant image output following startup. The image output of the Calibir camera continues to be stable across time and temperature range - no interruption for recalibration. The Calibir GX is also available with an optional integrated mechanical shutter for additional protection and flexibility.

Wide Range of Lens Options

The Calibir GX series supports a wide variety of different lenses, ranging from 7.5 to 100 mm focal length. Any of the Calibir series products are supplied with lens of choice and completely calibrated over an operational range of -40 to 60 °C ambient temperature.

Adaptive Contrast Enhancement

The Calibir GX series features improved image processing algorithms capable of adapting to the image content, optimizing contrast to display the best details in spite of conditions or intra-scene variations. With no manual intervention required, the Calibir GX series is capable of delivering high quality images reliably, whenever and wherever it is installed.

Export Controls

The Calibir GX cameras are presently classified as a "Dual Use" item under Group 1 (1-6.A.3.B.4.B) of the Canada Export Control List and Category 6 (6.A.3.B.4) under the Wassennaar Arrangement on Export Control for Conventional Arms and Dual-Use Goods and Technologies. The Camera as such is subject to export control – export authorization is needed for exporting the Camera from Canada, whether on a temporary or permanent basis.

Visible and IR Video Sample

In these clips, LWIR displays the difference between cold and hot liquids poured on the ground; it also demonstrates the heat signatures of a motorcycle's tire and engine.
