FLIR: New Microscopy Stand for Thermal Evaluation

FLIR Systems has announced the FLIR Microscopy Stand - a complete solution for thermal evaluation of very small objects.

Comprising a FLIR SC5000 series thermal imaging camera with a x3 or x5 microscopic lens and high precision X,Y,Z stage for accurate positioning the FLIR Microscopy Stand is capable of accurate temperature measurement on targets as small as 3 microns square.

Benefiting from a research-grade thermal imaging camera with a large focal plane array detector that delivers very low NETD and advanced design microscopic lenses the FLIR Microscopy Stand is able to deliver very high spatial resolution making microscopic thermal evaluation of electronic and photovoltaic components routine.

Equipped with a cooled Indium Antimonide (InSb) focal plane array detector - the FLIR SC5000 series thermal imaging camera uniquely combines high spatial resolution with leading-edge sensitivity and accuracy. Its 320 x 256 or 640 x 512 pixels format InSb focal plane array delivers respectively an outstanding 380 or 100 Hz frame rate while maintaining extraordinary linearity and sensitivity figures.

The use of FLIR's proprietary read-out integrated circuit technology ensures low noise and high pixel rate without compromising sensitivity. A smart external triggering feature allows synchronisation of image capture to the most fleeting of events. The FLIR SC5000 Series is truly plug & play using either GigE or CAMLINK interfaces to transmit both commands and full dynamic range digital video.

Pioneers in all aspects of infrared technology, FLIR designs, manufactures, and supports thermal imaging systems and subsystems for industrial, scientific, governmental, commercial, and fire fighting applications. With a 40-year history of infrared innovation, over 100,000 systems in use worldwide, and development centres and sales offices in over 60 countries, FLIR is the world leader in thermal imaging technology.
