Hamamatsu Photonics UK announced that it has launched a new CMOS camera that is suitable for OEM scientific applications. The C11440-50B camera features a FL-280 CMOS sensor and delivers cost-effective and high-performance imaging in board-level format.
The C11440-50B camera is useful for applications such as high-speed/high-resolution Ca2+ imaging, time-lapse fluorescence imaging, micromorphological observation, Förster resonance energy transfer, ratio imaging, total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy, x-ray scintillator readout, failure analysis, and semiconductor inspection. The camera is also useful for fluorescence in situ hybridization, and real-time confocal microscopy.
The C11440-50B camera has a resolution of 1920 × 1440 pixels and operates at 45 fps. It provides a dynamic range of 4500:1 and consumes less than 3W of power. It functions at temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C and has an exposure time between 20 µs and 1 s. It also features a 12 or 8-bit analog-to-digital converter.
The 2.8 MP camera has an IEEE1394-b interface, in addition to numerous trigger functions that enable convenient integration with devices of OEM customers. The functions include trigger ready output, global exposure timing output, trigger delay function, synchronous start and readout trigger, and global exposure.
