Mobius Photonics announced that its Business Management Vice President, Kiyomi Monro, will give a presentation at the 2010 CMOS Emerging Technologies Workshop.

The presentation will be given at Whistler, British Columbia. during the session on photonics. Monro will present on the UV fiber laser technology and its significance to thin wafer processing.
The presentation includes discussion on the applications of UV fiber laser technology such as through silicon via (TSV) drilling, silicon wafer scribing, and dicing. In these applications, it provides definite material processing quality as well as throughput. In a recent demonstration, the company showcased a fiber laser that can deliver micron-scale, high-quality cuts, holes and scribes in different materials.
These CMOS workshops are British Columbia-based conferences that are conducted every year. The workshops act as a platform for the institutions and companies to exhibit their innovations, products, technologies and services. The intention of the workshops is to encourage discussions and partnerships on new technologies between academics, investors, researchers, entrepreneurs and industry experts across the world.
