Resolve Optics Model 228 UV Imaging Lens Ensures Precision Forensic Investigation

Resolve Optics has developed the Model 228 lens producing high performance in both the visible wavebands and UV. With the help of this new model, crime scene investigators and forensic scientists can detect and spot a target in the visible range. After target identification, images in the UV can be captured using a UV filter, eliminating the need to refocus.

Ultraviolet (UV) Imaging Lens for Forensic Investigation

The application capability of reflected-UV can be improved through the interaction of materials with UV light. As a result, the reflected-UV serves broad range of applications in forensic investigation such as imaging of bite marks and latent fingerprints, and imaging of shoeprints on surfaces with low visible-light contrast and various other pattern injuries on skin.

With highly improved compact configuration, the Model 228 lens is fixed on a novel telescopic focusing mount, providing access to flexible motion. With no add-on adapters, the Model 228 lens can image objects from infinity to 1:1.25 magnification.

The lens presents a wide field of view 8.3° at 1:1.25 and at long object distances it provides magnification up to 16.6°. In addition, unparalleled high-resolution macro images can be generated. It is well-suited for fingerprinting and especially for human skin damage applications. Model 228 lens has high transmission qualities of the lens coatings and in addition includes wide field of view. Furthermore, its excellent light efficiency capabilities ensure identical view.

When the Forensic UV Lens undergoes imaging onto a RUVIS scope with a 1:1 lens magnification, followed by optimizing the optical resolution of image intensifier and lens, a true high-resolution crime site macro viewing efficiency can be obtained.
