Ophir Photonics Releases Laser Beam Analysis Software for GigE Cameras

Ophir Photonics Group, pioneer in accurate laser metrology, has released an advanced laser beam analysis software called BeamGage that is capable of supporting Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) cameras for high-speed applications. The company made the announcement at PhotonicsWest 2011.

BeamGage

The GigE cameras are inexpensive and ultra performance systems that offer high-speed transmission rates of up to 1 Gb/s in a rugged housing of 34x34x 69 mm. The camera’s Ethernet interface feature offers a number of advantages such as lower cost, instant availability and wide range of compatibility.

The BeamGage in combination with Ophir-Spiricon's UltraCal, a proprietary baseline correction algorithm, offers ultra precise results, ensuring that the data baseline or zero-point reference is precise to 1/8th of a digital count on a pixel-by-pixel basis.

The BeamGage comes in two versions such as Professional and Standard. The BeamGage Standard version has a complete set of beam analysis algorithms, BeamMaker beam simulator and automatic camera control for effortless usage. The BeamGage Professional features include camera output partitioning for camera sharing and individual analysis of numerous laser beams from fiber, a .NET interface for complete remote control when incorporating beam analysis into an automated solution.
