Princeton Instruments Launches PI-MAX3-MG ICCD Cameras

Princeton Instruments has expanded the intensified CCD (ICCD) camera series with the release of the PI-MAX3-MG cameras. The cameras have special readout, single-photon or ultralow-light modes for use in particle imaging velocimetry and single-shot measurements.

The PI-MAX3-MG cameras have a microchannel plate gating technology for a quick gating speed and increased sensitivity. Furthermore, the cameras are suitable for UV-blue applications including planar laser-induced fluorescence imaging for combustion research. The ICCD cameras unify a gating speed of less than 8 ns and the quantum efficacy of slow gate tubes.

With an integrated SuperSynchro timing generator, the cameras facilitate convenient complex time-resolved imaging tests. The SuperSynchro offers minimal insertion delay and enables storing of a sequence of gate widths and delays.

The cameras feature a SyncMaster technology that aids in minimizing lab clutter by removing the use of an external timing generator. In addition, the SyncMaster enables the camera to trigger double-pulse lasers or Q-switched flashlamp lasers individually. The PI-MAX3-MG cameras come in 1024 × 256 and 1024 × 1024 (1024i) formats.
