Inverted Microscope Stand from Leica Microsystems

Leica Microsystems has launched its new Leica DMI6000 B inverted microscope stand, which includes Adaptive Focus Control (AFC) for confocal, and widefield applications, such as TIRF, to regulate the focus position dynamically.

The microscope stand is suitable for confocal or widefield devices for live cell imaging, and brings better stability to the applications. The Leica DMI6000 B with AFC is designed for researchers who necessitate consistent multidimensional imaging. The AFC is completely automated and works on the basis of the light beam reflection at an ideal surface, to maintain the distance between the specimen and the objective constant. The AFC needs neither additional external control devices nor a PC connection. In addition, the AFC can be operated in a stand-alone mode.

The models available with the Leica Adaptive Focus Control are the Leica TCS SP5 MP, Leica TCS SP5 II DS, Leica TCS SP5 II, Leica AM TIRF MC, and Leica DMI6000 B. The AFC method works for the entire selected contrasting methods, as well as, this technique does not engage image acquisition.
