A provider of high precision optical solutions and optical metrology devices, Zygo has obtained a multi-million dollar order to manufacture high precision objective lens assemblies that are utilized in ophthalmic laser surgeries.
The company’s optical systems division will manufacture the lens assemblies for a key medical equipment manufacturer. The manufacturing order is part of a customer program and the units will be developed by the Electro-Optics group and manufactured in the Arizona plant.
The company’s President of the Optical Systems Division, John Stack stated that the manufacturing award affirms the company’s strengths in manufacturing the lens assemblies for utilization in sophisticated medical units. He added that the company also has the capability to meet the rigorous FDA protocols and guidelines. Stack also mentioned that the company’s expertise in this sector has enabled it to acquire businesses from semiconductor and defense customers.
Zygo is also a provider of electro-optical design and manufacturing services for the industrial, scientific, bio-medical, and semiconductor capital equipment markets.
