NAB 2016: Panasonic to Debut New Line of High Brightness Laser Projectors

Today, Panasonic will join hundreds of technological innovators in Las Vegas at the 2016 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show where attendees can experience Panasonic’s leading Visual Systems Technologies solutions, including the PT-RZ31K, at the company’s booth (C3607, Central Hall).

The PT-RZ31K is Panasonic’s first 3-Chip DLP™ SOLID SHINE laser projector series specially designed for large venues. Each projector outputs 28,000 lumens, and boasts a suite of image enhancement technologies that provide immersive picture quality for large installations, rental and staging, and projection mapping applications.

“For both large fixed and temporary installations, AV teams traditionally must keep a hot backup on hand or constantly change lamps and maintain the projectors, which can be costly,” said John Baisley, Senior Vice President, Visual & Imaging, Panasonic System Communications Company of North America. “The PT-RZ31K series offers event production teams and venue designers a maintenance-free solution with a low total cost of ownership that is both bright and reliable enough to meet their needs and exceed customer expectations.”

Available this fall, the PT-RZ31K Series offers both WUXGA and SXGA+, 360 degree installation, DIGITAL LINK single-cable transmission of video and control signals over long distances, as well as color matching, brightness and color control with geometric adjustment functions for blending multiple projectors. Additionally, the projectors include a 120 Hz Real Motion Processor for fluid action sequences and features a contract ratio of 20:000:1. A new liquid cooling system also contributes to reliability and quiet operation.

At NAB Show 2016, Panasonic will also showcase a number of other cutting edge AV technologies including:

  • TH-LQ70U 4K Professional Display Series: The LQ70 Series offers 4K (3840 x 2160 resolution) LED backlit LCD displays to produce stunningly sharp images in a streamlined form factor with the system expandability required for professional 4K applications. This series is ideal for a number of growing 4K resolution B2B applications including broadcast production, control rooms and rental and staging. These displays include Panasonic’s next generation of image enhancement technology which up-converts non-4K sources to a higher level of picture quality – transforming ordinary Full HD resolution and a variety of PC signals into breathtakingly vivid images. The displays also feature a reinforced frame for flexible install including tilt (up to 10 degrees with landscape setting) and support 4K content over DIGITAL LINK.
  • TH-55LFV60U Series Video Wall Displays: With an ultra-slim 3.5 mm bezel and anti-reflective treatment, the 55” TH-55LFV60U display creates beautiful, seamless images for a range of video wall applications, including broadcast studios and control rooms. The model is embedded with a “Failover and Failback” function, which maintains continuous signal distribution, even if some input signals are disrupted by an accidental operational error. The TH-55LFV60U provides a brightness of 700 cd/m2 for applications where high ambient light is a concern. The displays can be installed using Panasonic’s easy mounting magnetic brackets and an optional auto camera calibration for fast, seamless, simple and cost effective installations. Additionally, the displays can be operated 24/7, can be mounted in landscape or portrait mode, and are easily synchronized via an embedded USB port, enabling operators to update content wirelessly and efficiently.
  • RZ970 and RZ570 Series Projectors: Panasonic’s marquee line-up of laser projector portfolio, highlighting the PT-RZ570WU and the PT-RZ970WU 1-Chip DLP™ SOLID SHINE laser phosphor projectors*, will also be on display at NAB 2016. The PT-RZ570WU laser projector balances 5,400 lumens (center)/5,200 lumens of brightness, while the PT-RZ970WU offers 10,000 lumens of brightness. Both projectors provide brilliant picture quality, and marathon 20,000-hour maintenance-free 24/7 continuous filter-free operation, making these new models ideal for a wide variety of applications such as digital signage, rental & staging, meeting rooms and classrooms.
