Coherent has introduced the Verdi G10, a low-noise, 10 W, Continuous Wave (CW) green laser with a wavelength of 532 nm.
It is developed for cost-saving pumping of Ti:Al2O3 (titanium:sapphire) amplifiers and oscillators for materials research, spectroscopy and pump-probe dynamics applications.
The Verdi G10 is now the most powerful model in the Verdi G portfolio that uses Coherent's advanced optically pumped semiconductor laser (OPSL) technology, which offers small size, ultra performance, reduced cost of ownership and high durabilit.
The OPSL technology eliminates both thermal lensing and green noise problems that restrict the performance of multi-mode lasers developed by diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) technology. Thus, the Verdi G10 has a low noise level of less than 0.02% rms for a broad frequency spectrum range of 10 Hz to 100 MHz.
The Verdi G10’s output power can be evenly modified between 10% and 100% of the optimum value without compromising on beam pointing stability or beam quality, which is less than 2 µrad/°C.
The Verdi G10 laser can be used for carrier-envelope phase-stabilized systems where attaining reduced phase noise is significantly based on utilizing a pump laser with low noise. It is the first non-DPSS laser that can offer adequate power for pumping Coherent RegA series, ultra-repetition rate amplifiers.
